If your back hurts right now, just looking at the structure of the True Back traction device can make your back pain worse.

Stretching your back when you’re in pain is not an easy decision.

But:

What if it really works?

What if you could say goodbye to all that tension, stiffness, and pain in your back in just a few minutes a day – using a simple orthopedic back stretcher?

True Back Review

The True Back non-powered traction device is a convenient little home back stretching device.

It allows your back to be passively stretched in opposite directions while being supported in the correct position.

  • Size – “24 x 10″ x 4″ (I find it easy to pick and store, takes almost no storage space)
  • Weight – 4 pounds

So, how does it work?

How Does the True Back Work?

When you lie on the device, the 30 suspension points molded into the center rails support your body weight and create pressure on the muscles on each side of your spine.

This pressure allows the muscles to completely relax, which increases blood flow.

It decompresses your spine and you are passively stretching in opposite directions while being supported in the correct position.

The True Back non-powered orthopedic traction device decompresses your spine and takes away all the tension from your back.

When you get off it, you have a great feeling of renewed well-being.

Who Can Benefit From the True Back?

true back review and rating

The True Back can be helpful for anyone suffering from:

  • Back muscle knots
  • Sciatica
  • Back pain after exercising (it can prevent the pain if you use it before exercising!)
  • Back pain from prolonged sitting and standing
  • Posture-related back pain
  • Herniated/bulging disc

Pro Tip:

You can find cheaper back stretchers, such as the North American Back Stretcher, but this one doesn’t have the pressure points that increase blood circulation.

The True Back offers a mild form of spinal decompression.

If you need stronger traction, I would recommend you consider a high-quality inversion table.

What are the Benefits of Using the True Back?

trueback reviews

The True Back doesn’t just temporarily relieve back pain. If you use it properly and every day, you’ll enjoy these benefits:

  1. Improved flexibility and range of motion
  2. Better sleep
  3. Improved posture
  4. Stress relief
  5. Increased energy.

Also, the True Back is an effective back pain prevention tool, not just a pain reliever.

What is the Treatment Time with the True Back?

You’ll only need a few minutes a day (3-5 minutes) to get the remarkable benefits of True Back.

But if you stop using it every day, you can’t expect lasting results.

The secret is to keep using it every day, if only for a few minutes.

  • Use it before you go to sleep if you have back pain at night.
  • Use it before and after exercising to prevent injury and back pain.
  • Use it whenever you feel a “back attack” is coming to stop it dead in its tracks.

True Back Downsides

The True Back is a bit long for me, so my head rests on the hard end of it and I need something for padding.

Other than that I couldn’t find any other downsides.

Where Can You Buy the True Back?

I’ve checked the prices both on Amazon and the True Back website.

The price is usually lower on Amazon ($123 right now).

Is it Painful to Use the True Back?

The stretch is quite strong, but that’s the point of having a stretching device – to give you a stronger stretch passively than you can do on your own.

Though it can be painful to lie on at first, when your back relaxes and “adjusts” (you’ll feel that nice back crack), it can be extremely helpful.

I can’t say that this is “comfortable,” but I think the hard protrusions with their nubs are designed not only to grip your back but also to poke in and “force” your muscles to relax.

Keep the foams in place and you can use a small blanket on it until you get used to it.

If you want to take the stretching down a notch you can use a small pillow under your head.

Does the True Back Come With Instructions?

Yes, the True Back comes with an instructional DVD, make sure you watch it to use it correctly.

How Durable is the True Back?

The True Back is made of solid plastic and you’ll need a hammer or a big (and angry) dog to cause any damage to it.

There are no parts that will need replacement ever and it can last indefinitely.

How High is the Highest Lift?

The True back is about 3.5 inches from the floor at the highest point.

Conclusion

The True Back is a well-constructed and effective home back stretcher. It can be painful but it results in almost immediate pain relief and a great sense of renewed well-being.
